Before the session, I want to know your child.

We start with a conversation about your child. Their personality, what makes them themselves, what they love, what makes them go quiet, what makes them laugh. I send a styling guide with simple clothing options that photograph beautifully. By the time your child arrives at the studio, I already know whether they like loud people or quiet ones, and the session is paced around them, not a template.

An hour in the studio, sometimes less if they're small. No forced smiles, no demands to "say cheese." The lighting is warm, the room is calm, and we make portraits while your child is being themselves. Curious, quiet, silly, focused, all of it. I work the way you'd want a portrait painter to work, watching first and photographing properly. Most parents are surprised at how relaxed their child is by the end.

The portrait that will hang in their room for twenty years

About a week after the session, you come back to the studio for your private viewing. The portraits are shown on a large screen, sized to wall art proportions. Together we choose the one or two that really hold your child, and design wall art and folio prints around them. Every piece is hand-edited, finished to gallery standards, signed by hand. The portrait that will hang above their bed at five, that they'll keep when they leave home, that they'll one day show their own children.

Children's Studio Session Fee

I'm welcoming children into the studio for fine art portrait sessions at my Wirral studio.
Each session is relaxed and fully guided, with a private viewing appointment a week or two afterwards where we'll look through your images together and choose what to order.

A £150 session fee secures your date. I do have special offers for clients who participate in one of my artist projects, where clients grant permission for me to share their images in our displays and social media galleries and are selected via an application process.
