Motherhood Portraiture
For the mothers who are usually behind the camera. Real connection, considered work, designed for the walls in your home.
Most mothers are missing from their own family photographs.
Not because they don't want to be there. Because they're holding the camera. Because they're waiting until they lose some weight. Because the children always come first. Because the right moment never quite arrives. Look through any family album and you'll see it. Dad and the children. The children alone. Mum with the children when someone else happened to take the shot. But rarely a portrait of mum, with her children, made the way every other family photograph deserves to be made.
A session for you if…
You want to be in the photographs with your children.
For real, not just on a phone, not just at someone's birthday party. A considered portrait of you and the children you love most, made properly, in good light, with care.
You don't feel ready (which means you are).
Almost every mother I photograph says the same thing before her session: "I should lose weight first," or "after the children are older," or "when I sort my hair." Then the photographs arrive and she sees something she hadn't been able to see in the mirror.
Your children will want this one day, even if they don't know it yet.
The photograph of you with them, taken properly, with attention and care, becomes the photograph they'll one day show their own children. The mother in the picture is the mother they'll remember.
You’re tired of not existing in photographs with your children
New mothers and grandmothers. Mothers of toddlers and mothers of teenagers and mothers of adult children home for a weekend. Biological mothers, adoptive mothers, step-mothers, the women who raise children whether they gave birth to them or not. Single mothers, mothers in partnership, mothers in whatever shape your family takes. Significant others welcome in the frame too, when the children want them there. If there are children in your life that you love as your own, this is for you.
You're already perfect for these photographs, because you're their mother.
Before your session, everything is sorted.
The session itself is gentle.
The real moments. The bond between you
At the viewing, you see yourself differently.
Motherhood Session Fee
I'm welcoming mothers into the studio for fine art portrait sessions at my Wirral studio.
Each session is relaxed and fully guided, with a private viewing appointment a week or two afterwards where we'll look through your images together and choose what to order.
A £150 session fee secures your date. I do have special offers for clients who participate in one of my artist projects, where clients grant permission for me to share their images in our displays and social media galleries and are selected via an application process.
